Mangaka: Hiro Mashima Title: Zoldeo’s Ambition Rating: 6.5/10
Synopsis: We continue this week with the Caprico and Leo confrontation. Caprico is totally freakin’ out over Lucy’s existence and sends one of his human summons to “destroy” her (Destroy? Really? She’s not a robot .) Leo totally pwns summon with a back fist and a cool “Not on my watch.” Caprico sends several summons at him, but Leo is too cool for school and blinds them with his awesome flashing Regulus power (no seriously…it was just a flash of light. lol. so random). There is lots of talking and blah blah blah, as Leo tries to figure out what is going on with Caprico, who is acting mighty strange. It is revealed that Caprico broke one of the Taboos that are imposed on Celestial Spirits…or did he? Another bomb is dropped as we discover that Caprico is actually not in control of his own actions but in fact…READ THE CHAPTER! I won’t reveal, but let’s call this force “Evil Caprico” (even though it’s kinda misleading).
A huge fight then ensues with Leo being “taken over” by Evil Caprico and is planning to kill Lucy making use of a person she trusts.. However, randomly, (good) Caprico who has regained control of himself helps Leo escape from the control of Evil Caprico, but he had to take a lot of damage in order for this to be done. The true form of Evil Caprico is finally revealed and turns out to be completely kinda lame btw -_-. In fact it was so lame they didn’t even have to defeat him. His lame ass disappeared on his own. **sigh**. Finally, (good) Caprico explains everything to Loki about what happened to himself and with Layla (Lucy’s mum). We also discover that through Celestial Spirit contractual thingies, Caprico is actually technically Lucy’s. With that, he turns out to be a smiling good guy, who is pleased to return to his “original” master. Lucy gains yet another Zodiac Golden Key XD. (In good time too, cause Fairy Tail is gonna need all the power they can get later with Hades). We end on a funny note with Lucy telling Gray and Cana that Leo won. Gray is infuriated because he is now left without a partner (does he not realise the exam is the least of their worries now? lol. You are as clueless as ever, Gray.)
From the looks of the last panel it looks as if we’ll get into Cana’s drama next. So hopefully we can see why she’s so set on becoming S-class…bad enough to want to quit Fairy Tail 😐
Best Character: Leo totally owned in this chapter once more. Like seriously. He didn’t have a one flash moment either. He just totally ruled in the way he defeated all of Caprico’s summons so easily and more over managed to stop being take over (you’ll see what I mean when you read.) He’s really a lot smarter than he looked. Also Caprico a little bit, but I’m kinda disappointed on how he turned out to be honest. I think I liked him bad…and un-taken-over…especially when it’s in such a lame way **sigh**
Worst Character: Evil Caprico. Totally lame. I didn’t like the idea/execution at all. Hiro could’ve done better. **sigh**. And as said before, I kinda didn’t like how “good” Caprico turned out.
Likes: Leo being awesome and protecting Lucy at all costs. LEOXLUCY FOREVAAAAAAAA!!! Caprico coming in to save the day (although it was technically Leo’s idea, which makes Leo even MORE awesome!)
Dislikes: Evil Caprico. I cannot stress the lameness enough. Also, as §eraph said, a teensy bit of an information/talking overload. Even though I didn’t find it that bad, it was tolerable. Not like that OP chapter a couple of weeks ago (and this past week too actually). And definitely not like Bleach/Naruto -_-. But I digress.
More Chapter Ratings:
§eraph: 6.5/10 – Information overload…but then I’m kind of slow and retarded but yes, drama for daayyyz! 😀 Evil Capricorn just lost all his cool points though 😐 ‘Maybe it’d be a better idea to make her into a slave and play around with her a little…’?! o.O Stinkin’ perv…Well, I’m glad that’s over and that the chapter is moving on. In all, not a bad chap. I expected a better chapter but it wasn’t terrible…
§tiggles: 7/10 – Leo being ossm at the start saves it, but the Captain Ginyu part seemed rushed and kinda killed the buzz to me.
Random Rant Time: So, I’ve decided to start being more critical and this chapter was pretty much predictable as hell…with exception of the whole “Evil Caprico” thing….which turned out to not really work well, so yeah, some points loss. It wasn’t a bad chapter, but it wasn’t great either -_-. On a happier note…
LEO = GOD…ok not really. But he’s pretty damn amazing. He’s so cool. If Lucy won’t take him (and she’ll be an absolute retard if she doesn’t and I’ll despise her) then I will. I mean look at him
How can you resist the sexy? **Sigh**
On another random rant note…I can’t believe Caprico turned out like that. He was supposed to be such a coool villain. And I mean, I know Hiro wanted him to join Lucy so she can have another strong spirit/golden key but he could’ve done it in a better way -_-. Seriously. It was just sooooo laammmme how it turned out. My ideal Caprico dream was CRUSHED. Why Hiro? Couldn’t you at least have made him turn good in some other cooler way? Or if you were running out of original ideas, do it the old good way and make Leo beat him into submission in an epic fight, and then drag him back to Lucy to pledge loyalty? **sigh** But I suppose beating into submission would’ve been kinda embarrassing him…LIKE IF BEING TAKEN OVER ISN’T LAME ENOUGH!? That implies a weak mind. Laaammmmmeee. Capricorns are very bull-headed -_-. But yeah. I’m done. I’m upsetting myself. End of rant.
