Mangaka: Eiichiro Oda Title: The Pirate Fish Tiger Rating: 7.5/10
Synopsis: One Piece returns this week with a very girlified Koala. The Sun Pirates bought her a dress, shoes and even got her a haircut to boot! I rate those guys…’cept Arlong. They finally got an eternal pose to her hometown and to express her gratitude for everything they have done for her, she begins to clean the decks. Apparently she still has a long way to go in terms of breaking free of the unrelenting hold slavery has on her psyche. The genie-like doctor, whose name happens to be Aladdin, says just as much to Hacchi who freaked out when Koala slipped into slave mode. Arlong continues to rant like a cretinous donkey and Jinbei promptly reminds him that only a small portion of humans are purely evil. Koala reveals that the reason why humans are so afraid of the fishmen is as a result of not knowing anything about them. It is then Jinbei realizes that Queen Otohime’s previous assertions concerning diplomacy between fishman and human were correct.
After spending quality time with the Sun Pirates, Koala is sent home and is accompanied to the entrance of her village by Boss Tai. On his way back to his ship however, armed marines surround Boss Tai and all hell breaks loose! Despite all of this, he still wants peace between humans and fishmen and so orders his crew mates not to tell the fish people anything that would destroy all that Queen Otohime has worked so hard to maintain. Then, to our surprise, Arlong returns to Koala’s hometown but is completely pwned by a certain vice admiral with a stupid face and a smoking finger tip…
Likes: All of the Sun Pirates who accepted Koala and treated her well. Jinbei for becoming more fishmane (see: humane) and conscientious. Boss Tai for being super duper humble and understanding despite his not so pleasant encounters with humans. Also, Koala for being such an adorable and friendly little lass. Bless her… (And Kizaru for being a boss…as usual)
This flashback is still pretty decent. It was predictable but even so, I enjoyed reading it. Everything is unfolding quite smoothly. I also appreciated all of the raw emotions of the characters ( in terms of artwork, the tears and mucus are a bit overdone in my opinion) This chapter just goes to show how screwed up the world of One Piece is…our world is just as horrible, if not worse. Why can’t all races just get along and stop menstruating all the time? Where’s the love people?! I’m very curious about what will happen between Arlong and Kizaru…something fishy is definitely goin’ on yo…
Dislikes: The prattling Arlong. I hope he gets a good thrashing. Then again, that will just exacerbate his hatred for humans -.-
More Chapter Ratings:
mu§e: 7.5/10 “Deep chapter…I was starting to think Boss Tai was a saint, but I was kind of happy to see that he was ‘real’ in a sense. That is to say, he hated humans more than anyone else, so much so that he would refuse their blood, but he was still capable of recognizing that it was fault of ignorance and put everything on the upcoming generation, hoping the chain of hatred could be broken. So sweet, so heart touching/heart breaking, so epic.”
Random Hot Topic: Uhhh….Who is the strongest Admiral in your opinion? I don’t think I can answer that question myself but my favourite Admiral is Aokiji. I LOVE Kizaru’s silly face though. His voice in the anime is also h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s. I will not even mention the other one. He is not worthy of Random Hot Topic :@ Anyway, because Boss Tai was so awesome and because he went through so much hardship I must grace this page with his picture. If someone’s ever racist to you, just remember Boss Tai and all the crap he went through XD. On a serious note, there are a lot of people in the real world who have been through so much tribulation at the hands of other races. I’m glad Oda-sama is able to share his world views somewhat through his manga. Cheers to Oda-sama and Boss Tai! Kampai!
I love his shirt by the way lol…
