Mangaka: Hiro Mashima Title: The Boy Who Stares at the Sea Rating: 9/10
Synopsis: We continue with Gildarts’ epic rage of last week as he and Bluenote do the classic stare down. Gildarts orders the other to get away from him, releasing a surge of power and flipping a huge chunk of earth upside down…while still standing on it. (Natsu’s expression, page 4, bottom pannel, second from the right = priceless. Lol). Gildarts and Bluenotes fists exchange the first blow in another classic battle manga style scene causing flashes of light and thunder (if you could hear it) :P, disintegrating the earth around them. Bluenote is astounded that Gildarts was actually able to overpower him (nothing to be surprised about punk, he’s Gildarts). Cana encourages to others to get out of the way while Gildarts gives Bluenote another spine chilling glare for stomping all over the kids’ exams. In the other locations where Rusty Rose was facing off against Panther Lily, Lisanna and Levy new allies (READ THE CHAPTER TO FIND OUT) appear to help them defeat Rusty! Another epic fight begins with ____________ and _____________ attacking with all their might displaying their awesome powers! Most epic line in the entire chapter? (apart of Gildarts moments of course) “Get up. There is no path to redemption for you.” So. Damn. Cool. We then go through a final quick flash of all the encounters… before witnessing a small boy with a Fairy Tail emblem on his left shoulder staring at the sea (who apparently was looking back on this battle as if it had already happened). Who is this mysterious boy? What does he know? (Insert dramatic music here)
Likes: GILDARTS!!!!! Also _______ and ________ ‘s entry! You’ll see when you read. So awesome, so epic, such a sweet come back. S’time for the counter attack!!
Dislikes: Well, it’s not really a dislike…I’m just confused. Where did that little boy come in? And why is he talking about what’s going on as if it was something in the past? This concerns me. But then again, Hiro is known for dropping some epic bombshells out of no where. I wait to see where this is going…It better be good though -_- and it better not be the end of Fairy Tail because it’s beginning to look VERY much suspiciously so.
More Chapter Ratings:
§eraph: 9/10 “Another fast paced, exciting and riveting chapter. The tension was certainly palpable. I felt Gildarts wrath and I felt Rustyrose’s fear when ______ and ______ towered ominously over him in the rain. Again, I must point out how well Mashima is able to bring out the raw emotions of his characters without making it cheesy or overdone. I look forward to reading the next chapter.”
je§ter: 9/10 “The madness continues from last week’s chapter with Gildartz and Blue Note duking it out in true Super Saiyan style. Meanwhile, elsewhere on fairy island, a certain annoying enemy gets completely and utterly silenced by an unexpected (and unexpectedly strong) tag team! A little unfair, but he was a bit of a bastard anyhow, so we’ll let that slide.”
Random Rant Time: Am I the only one who wants to see some Natsu X Lisanna development? (Sorry Natsu X Lucy fans…but I still think Lisanna and Natsu are MADE for each other. So cute when they were little) Sadly, there’s not much fan art of the two of em together. This is the only one that I found that I sort of liked.
