Mangaka: Eiichiro Oda Title: Indebted Rating: 6.5/10
Synopsis: Hordy Jones tells the Fishmen that the heartless and degenerate scum who shot their beloved queen was a disgusting human. Enter weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. Decken’s silly pedo-tendencies are on a whole new level this week. He sends several love letters to six year old Shirahoshi, asking for her hand in marriage. At Queen Otohime’s funeral, (the setting reminds me of the 3rd hokage’s funeral in Naruto) Prince Fukaboshi vows to carry out his mother’s dreams no matter how long it takes. His speech marks the end of this interesting and moving flashback (yes dammit!!!) and Jinbe’s anecdote concerning the Fishmen’s past finally comes to an end. The Straw Hat Pirates are also moved by his detailed account of the past, and Nami, who has emotional scars because of Fishmen, tells Jinbe that she holds no grudges against them despite her sad past. Everyone is snapped out of the emotionally cathartic mood when Hordy Jones makes his presence known on a giant television screen. Is the racist shark-lord of war ready to make his ultimate move?!
Likes: The flashback is finally over. Sleeping Luffy made me chuckle. The plot seems to be going somewhere again. Nuff said.
Dislikes: The first half of the chapter didn’t do anything for me. I wasn’t feeling it. For the past few weeks the flashback has had it’s moments but I’m just relieved that it’s finally over. Did that human really kill Otohime or was the whole thing set up by Hordy Jones so that the Fishmen would hate humans all over again and would be willing to go to war with them etc? He’s one selfish bastard. Remember he has no mercy for his fellowmen who love humans so I’m guessing he’s to blame for her death. I wish they’d get on with the whole Straw Hat Pirates vs Jones and Decken already. Please don’t drag this out any longer Oda-sama. Let them fight already for pete’s sake.

mu§e: 6.5/10 – Looks like we’re finally getting out of this long, redundant flash back and for that I’m happy. That is all I have to say. I don’t feel as if anything of consequence really happened (much like the last couple of chapters) Moreover we have to wait an extra week for the real drama to start…**sigh**
Random Hot Topic: Lots of One Piece fans have been buzzing about the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie as though they’ve made some sort of mind blowing discovery. You people obviously never paid attention in history class: OMG!! Edward Teach/Blackbeard in POTC! Sooooo cool! I’m included in that bunch of silly OP fans. LOL. (I knew Blackbeard was a real pirate though…I just couldn’t help but think excitedly of OP during the film XD) Anyway, I generally enjoyed the movie because I never tire of Jack Sparrow’s dry witticisms and his EPIC run. His run is awesome. You betta recognize! I’ve always loved Geoffrey Rush’s acting as well – his pirate laugh is priceless. However, there was nothing fantastic or amazing about this particular installment. It was just ‘okay’, with a few hilarious exceptions here and there.
Then again, considering the crap that I’ve seen recently I guess it was more than just ‘okay’. It’s not a movie that I would pay another $20 to see again however, (that’s Eastern Caribbean currency mind you: no I have not seen the cast and crew of POTC. Sadly.) but I would gladly sit down to watch it again when it comes out on cable tv. I must point out that On Stranger Tides did not feel the same without my high school sweetheart, Orlando Bloom (His acting sucks, I still love him – or used to. He’s married now. To a Victoria Secret’s super model. And has a kid. I’m devastated.) and Keira Knightley. Ah well. Back to One Piece. Here’s a silly video I found on YouTube today of One Piece and POTC. Enjoy!
