Mangaka: Tite Kubo Title: Erosion/Implosion Rating: 7.5/10
Synopsis: Skipping Orihime waking up, this chapter kicks off with Ichigo going through an insane workout (1400 pushups anyone?) provided by Ginjo, and rightfully begging to stop. Ginjo simply asks for another hundred. While they banter, Orihime watches on from her virtual abode, and Riruka drops off breakfast. Fun. Anyway, Ichigo somehow pulls off the last hundred set (1500!!! :O), so Ginjo rewards him with an explanation: Fullbrings use your actual body (uh huh…) so you gotta be buff (ah!). He also asks Ichigo about the reiatsu he saw at the end of their fight (last chapter), and says this means Ichigo is finally starting to get back his powers. Hellzyea.
He also explains that said powers were never totally gone, and that they (don’t ask me how) used the reiatsu from Ichigo’s fullbring to wake the shinigami reiatsu up. Wait, there’s more! At some point, his fullbring and shinigami powers will fuse, and Ichigo will surpass the level of a super sa- sorry. He’ll “gain a power transcending the shinigami.” Anywho, Ginjo tells Ichigo to use his fullbring now as it should be complete. Read the chapter and see what you think ;).
So the crew comes out of the gameboy advance. Honestly I forgot Chad was in there. Apparently they’ve only been in there for 90 minutes real time thanks to a ‘fast forward’ option on the GBA. Right. So Ichigo goes home and is greeted by Yuzu, who’s waaaay too cheerful, and tells Ichigo that they have a guest who’s “a blast from the past.” Ichigo is clueless, so she tells him it’s a cousin. He’s still lost, so he goes to look, and finds…. Read the chapter ;).
Likes: The possible future. I’ve said it before, but this arc could be something of a new beginning for Bleach. It offers new opportunities for Kubo to shape stories around, and could extend the life of this manga which I was pretty sure was gonna end after one more arc.
Dislikes: The possible future. It could suck. Lol.
More Chapter Ratings:
§eraph 6/10 – Ichigo’s transformation disappoints me. Hopefully there’ll be a second (i.e. more epic and sexy) transformation that doesn’t look….like that 😐 His final getsuga tenshou form has set the standard. The Kurosaki’s blast from the past guest intrigues me. What’s his deal? The next chapter seems promising though. Then again, they always do and then they suck.
mu§e 6.5/10 – Again with some useless crap. We did not need to see Orihime getting ready, nor did we need to see Ruri-chan or whatever her name is being all tsundere. As for Ichigo’s insane workout regime, wooow, he’s soo strong…WE KNOW THAT ALREADY can we get to the important parts? Also I agree with everyone else, transformation = lame. However, I did thoroughly enjoy the bombshell toward the end. That was nicely played. We’ll see if Kubo manages to screw it up next chapter -_-.
Not-so-Random Question: Where’s Karin? Ichigo’s super-sensitve sis is missing from the last scene. Hmmmm.
