Mangaka: Eiichiro Oda Title: Cleansing Rating: 7.5/10
Synopsis: Hordy Jones declares that he intends to usurp the throne, allow the migration of nefarious fishmen from the Fishman District and KILL Neptune and the traitors who supported the now deceased queen Otohime with her petition. He says all this on a giant screen (technology like this in One Piece seems so out of places sometimes XD) and Luffy looks on showing us his trademark I’m-gonna-kill-this-bitch-then-eat-meat-and-pick-my-nose face. Hordy also announces that in three hours he will take the head of king Neptune and drown Zorro, Brook and Usopp. Luffy is shocked that they have been caught (me too but I’ll get back to that in my dislikes section) and he FINALLY finds out that his bounty is now 400 million Beli. We get some semi-chuckle worthy moments with the idiots who got captured and then, out of the blue, we see Robin talking to a giant rock. Luffy and Shirahoshi are eager to get to all the action (quite frankly I am too), but for some reason unknown to mankind, Jinbei is completely against the idea of confronting Hordy Jones *ugh*. It seems as though he’s ready to forcefully stop Luffy from fighting Hordy but that won’t really happen now would it? 😐
Likes: Luffy!! He didn’t do much but I enjoyed his general comportment throughout this chapter: expressionless, silly, incensed, he did it all <3. This week’s chapter generally held my interest. Things seeems to be picking up. I hope that’s what’s actually happening. Three hours better not be a freaking excuse for 3 weeks of time wasting >.<
Dislikes: Zorro, Zorro, Zorro….I don’t care about Usopp or Brook as much but, oh my dear Zorro. How dare you allow yourself to be captured? What will my husband have to say about this unholy misfortune? Mihawk will be most displeased. I am disappointed. Anyway, Jinbei knows we’ve been waiting for like 2 months for some semblance of MOVEMENT but then he decides to play the ass. I doubt he and Luffy will end up fighting though. He’ll probably capitulate and lend Luffy a helping hand. Fighting each other would be most fagged up.
More Chapter Ratings:
mu§e: 7/10 – Things are finally looking up and getting interesting. Luffy’s got the look in his eye which means someone’s gonna get pwned soon. However, what is with these plot lines and allies fighting each other. First Naruto, then Bleach, now One Piece? How many times do I have to repeat myself? They have THREE hours before Hordy goes all psycho up in the Kingdom and executes the King and they’re gonna waste like, an hour or so with Jinbe and Luffy fighting each other? Really?…**sigh**
§tiggles: 6/10 – Not too fond of the majority of this chapter, and the ending seemed random and forced.
Random Hot Topic: Nico Robin and Trafalgar Law? This picture is a tad risqué but it’s cute enough. I wonder if Robin would be averse to the idea of a dude-friend. She’s got a good thing (a platonic thing of course) going on with her crew mates.Good for her. Hopefully she’ll put herself to good use in this arc.
