Mangaka: Tite Kubo Title: End of the Bond 3 Rating: 7/10
Synopsis: Today, Bleach takes a trip over to gangland to dabble in the unfair for a moment. It opens with Ginjo facing off against the brainwashed members of Xcution and Tsukishima’s little thug of a subordinate. This fight is a bit dodgy at best and serves up little more than a kick, clock, kiss and (flickin’ hard) punch, so we’ll just move right on along. And now let’s switch to the main event; Ichigo X (Tsukishima+Orihime+Chad) = Trouble. The result of this little mathematical equation isn’t evident right away, as it starts out with just Ichigo against Tsukishima himself. The young Ranger, I mean protagonist, displays surprisingly satisfactory skill with his Fullbring and shows he’s a bit more like his old, Shinigami self than his new…appearance…reveals. I won’t reveal anymore details, but it’s safe to say Chad and Orihime get in the way again, someone else gets cut and another character approaches the battlefield.
Likes: The fact that things are actually now starting to happen is refreshing. The fighting is nice and fast-paced once more, much like the Bleach chapters of old. Ichigo’s Fullbring power is getting more and more impressive, but it’s still not even quarter-way cool enough to compensate for its appearance…sorry folks.
Dislikes: Despite finally starting to get going, the progression is still a little fragmented and brief. This is probably because of the (approximately) 20-page limit of the chapters, but still not the coolest thing in the world. The whole many-on-one scene of the latest chapters also seems pretty lame and just paints Tsukishima as a giant punk in my mind. He forces Ichigo into a disadvantageous position by forcing him to fight against his friends while he stands behind them with a smug grin… Ichigo should just knock the two of them unconscious and then <<insert desired expletive>> Tsukishima right up. Lastly, that thug-boy… His Fullbring is confusing, or maybe his explanation just sucked. Whatever the reality, I didn’t understand it and so think he just can punch things really hard…maybe. Well there you go; the dislikes still outrank the likes by a bit. Let’s hope for better next chapter!
Other Chapter Ratings:
§eraph 7/10 – You know, maybe it would have been cooler if Shishi-hime’s (Shishigawara…and yes, ‘hime’) Jackpot Knuckle actually did some damage right there and then which might have impressed us instead of failing and trying to convince us that it’s cool by explaining it’s greatness. A decent chapter all things considered and even though I have no idea where this is all going. I have a feeling that Tsukishima isn’t really a baddy 😐 He knew that by doing all that crap to his friends that Ichigo would improve and so forth…hmm. I’m looking forward to next week’s chapter. Ichi-goooo!!
Random Mental Impulse: No real impulses this week. The chapter was pretty okay, and i’m satisfied with that. Peace out folks. Oh, and here’s a special little photo for our little Miss mu§e, courtesy of §eraph. We love you mu§e! 🙂
