Mangaka: Hiro Mashima Title: Mistakes and Experience Rating: 8/10
Synopsis: First of all…wow…sorry about the week late thing 😐
Anyway, the epic Fairy Tail group stare down Hades and vice versa. They come up with a plan and, as the humans in the epic group board the Grimoire Heart ship thing, the Exceed go to look for the ship’s power source to destroy it. Blah blah blah, there is some talking, and then Natsu launches the first attack at Hades, while screaming “eat the power of Fairy Tail!” (*sigh*, oh Natsu).
The others join him a splendid, well rounded force of attacks against Hades, but none of them really hit him…although they’re all epic…especially the last move they did together with all their powers coming together or whatever that was…epic battle scene, but no effect on the Master Hades. Anyway, long story short, Hades is Hades and he can just to crazy shit, so he starts counter attacking them, seriously this time, and releases a giant battle cry of “KATSU”…then….Wendy suddenly disappears into thin air!?
Likes: One of the best battle scenes to date I think. Everything was so well co-ordinated, nice and clean, I especially loved when Erza and Gray had their bonding sword moment…Gray’s Cold Excalibur looked pretty epic, and I really loved when they did their whole unison move thing…that was amazing. It was a pretty focused chapter, going into some mad detail about the fight and I really appreciated that. Amazingly though it wasn’t too slowly paced either. Hiro hit a nice spot with it.
Dislikes: Nothing to really complain about…I was kinda wondering why Hades was basically just standing there letting them attack him but then again, they do have to show off his awesome force of power and how hopeless this case is first, don’t they? That’s what they always do. Other than that…I’m still feeling it out…it was a really good chapter, naturally, but it just didn’t feeeeel like a great chapter, y’know?
More Chapter Ratings:
§eraph: 8/10 – Some decent teamwork going on there. I loved when Hades said, “Come when you’re ready. Makarov’s babies.” and then he did the epic walk off with his cape swirling behind him. Natsu’s fire-powered enthusiasm is infectious and the end of the chapter was a bit of a what-the-hell-just-happened?! moment for me.
je§ter: 8.5/10 As §eraph already said, pretty awesome teamwork in this chapter. But, Hades… “Ah bad man ting dis yuh know blood!” to quote a recently watched British film. Seriously, he takes the epic level and just punches…no, kicks it so hard it goes right beyond its natural limits. Kudos to the gang though, for charging so fearlessly at the man who completely messed up the one dude everyone’s afraid of (Makarov).
Random Rant Time: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Where oh where oh where is Wendy? They wouldn’t dare! She’s so small, and cute, and if her older self that we kinda got a glimpse of in the Edolas arc is any hint, she grows up to be quite epic. I dunno. I know she can be annoying because she really doesn’t do much but I do love Wendy. I’m just waiting for her to blossom and gain epic control of her epic sky dragon powers…I mean, she’s gonna be so kickass. I’m imagining her kinda Mira-Jane-ish for the future…but old, kickass Mira-Jane…maybe a tad bit toned down. What say you?
